John and Pam got hitched yesterday at Claytor Lake State Park. Their wedding was beautiful, despite the unseasonably cold weather. It’ll take me a while to get through the rest of the pictures, but here are a few sneak previews from their wedding day portraits, with candid shots from the rest of the day coming later this week!

I love the above image in black and white, but I think I’m partial to the color version… In either case, Pam’s smile is my favorite part.

The idea behind planning their wedding for the mid-October was that they could have lots of colorful leaves as scenery. I love the way the leaves and trees look in these next shots.

I am such a typical photographer… I was excited about the windy weather because I knew we could get a “blowing veil” shot!

I think John looks dashing here:

And I think these next two are cute… I love the red tree in the background!

In addition to the leaves, they had tons of other beautiful fall decorations around. (Just wait until you see the cake and other reception decor!) Pam and John actually got married at this gazebo, and I thought it would be neat to have a shot of them reclining on the steps, with the pumpkins and mums around them and the lake behind. This is one of my favorite shots from the day.

That’s it for now! I have a family session to finish and a week of school teaching ahead, but check back later this week to see the rest of Pam and John’s wedding highlights!
