When I am booked on someone’s wedding date, I try to send them two or three names for other photographers to check out. First on my list is always Miss Emily Porter. You can imagine how flattered I was when Emily contacted ME a few months ago to see if I might be free to photograph her best friend’s wedding (she is a bridesmaid).
The best friend, Courtney, contacted me soon after and I signed on do her wedding this June. I usually do engagement portraits for all my wedding couples as practice and a get-to-know-you time before the big day. In this case, Courtney and her fiance, Eli, were already planning to do engagement portraits with Emily, so we decided to do a sisters session instead.
This is a big year for all three sisters: Courtney’s getting married, Kelly’s having a baby, and Chelsea’s graduating with her master’s degree. It was the perfect time for a photo shoot.
I have to say, the Caswell sisters were a riot. This shoot was so much fun that I didn’t mind the drive to and from Charleston at all! Eli came along and assisted with my gear (thank you!!!!) and after the shoot we all had dinner together and talked more about the wedding. I am really looking forward to June 5!
Here is a selection of some of my favorites from the shoot, and of course there will be many more in the final gallery.

(That’s Courtney, the bride.)

After living with these for a week, this next image has become my favorite. I love the setting (especially the gold colors and the painting behind them) and the “proper” pose, and especially Courtney’s mysteriously raised eyebrows.

Going for a “Victorian” look…

Courtney, Chelsea, and Kelly, thank you for shooting with me! I had a great time and I look forward to seeing you all again in June!

2) I am SO EXCITED for the wedding in June!!
3) How gorgeous are these girls!! They are all such beautiful, wonderful people. It’s really an honor to call Courtney one of my best friends. I really cannot wait for her wedding.
You did an amazing job, Natalie. I know all three of these women personally and you captured their beauty and personalities perfectly.

Natalie, I love so many of these shots! I think they really do showcase each of us individually and as sisters. Even my mom has one of them posted on her facebook page, lol.
Doing this shoot has gotten me (and Eli!) even more excited for the wedding day. Working with you seemed so natural, and getting to know you was such a pleasure.
Thank-you for doing such a wonderful job, and for all the kind words about the now infamous Caswell Sisters. Looking foward to the rest of the proff gallery, and counting down the days until the next session for the big day!
