OK, I admit it.
Although I am CRAZY about dogs, I get a little bit nervous when someone asks me if their dog can be included in the their shoot. I always say yes, because – as previously stated – I’m CRAZY about dogs, but I think it goes without saying that some dogs are easier to photograph than others.
When Katelyn and David asked me if their miniature schnauzers could come along, I had a short moment of panic. My parents have schnauzers, and those dogs never stop moving! (One of them just doesn’t sleep, I swear… she’s like Chuck Norris!) BUT my fears were completely unfounded. Katelyn and David’s dogs are the best-behaved schnauzers – really, two of the best-behaved dogs, period – I’ve ever seen. The older dog, Bo, was so calm throughout the shoot. Even Loki, the puppy, waited patiently and quietly while we shot. They were dream dogs!
But enough about the dogs…. Katelyn and David are such a sweet couple. I know that they (and their dogs) will be such a happy family!
Also, Katelyn is my first redhead! When she told me she had bright red hair, I got really excited (I’m a redhead too). I think she looks so beautiful in these photos.
We shot these at Virginia Tech, around the duck pond and across the street in the Ag Quad.

I love Loki’s tongue in this next one…

I love this moment:

We tried to stay away from the more popular areas of the duck pond and found some really pretty hidden spots. One of them was this pathway under a lot of overgrown bushes. This is becoming one of my most popular images. I think I’m going to order a big metallic print of it:

A Family Portrait:

And finally, my FAVORITE:

Congratulations on your engagement, Katelyn and David! I hope you love the photos.
