I’ve been staying really busy with weddings this summer, but I have also been making time for some senior portrait photography. I’ve posted about senior pictures before, and how fun it is to have a unique portrait session that really shows off your personality. So far, my 2011 seniors have been really cool girls with diverse interests, and I have enjoyed getting to know them. I think their pictures are beautiful and I’m looking forward to showing them off, one post at a time!
My first senior of the summer was Christina. Christina is one of a crew of 4 sisters (that’s a lot of weddings!), and her siblings came along to watch and help out at the shoot. It was really fun to get to see the whole family. Christina is planning to be a teacher and already has experience working at a day care. I know she’ll be great!
We shot Christina’s session at Bissett Park in Radford.
My typical senior session lasts about two hours, which is usually time for three different outfits. Christina brought a more casual ensemble to wear after her first dress. I liked the layering and the mix of colors. She seemed really relaxed and comfortable in this outfit, and I think the pictures reflect that. It’s so important to choose something you love to wear.
I think these next two are super cute.
I recommend seniors bring at least one dressy outfit for their session. Dressy clothes tend to be more “timeless,” which just means you’ll still like the outfit when you look at the pictures ten years from now. Christina chose a really cute little sundress with a bold print pattern. I think the colors look so great against the neutral wood and grass backgrounds.
I love this next black and white:
And my personal favorite….
Which ones do you like best? Leave Christina some love in the comments below!
