Meet Sarah and Bryan, serious contenders for cutest couple in the world and lovers of beautiful Richmond, Virginia.
I knew I wanted to shoot Sarah and Bryan’s wedding right away. I believe you can tell a lot from a person’s writing, and Sarah’s writing is a JOY. I smile every time I get an email from her. She just exudes fun. It turns out, she’s a rather gifted artist and children’s book writer/illustrator, and she’s also just started her own photography business. Bryan is a perfect complement to Sarah – quieter, a bit more reserved, but so easy to be around. Their wedding is this weekend at Montfair Resort Farm, and is going to feature games, pies, and the Bossa Nova, along with some really unique details, from what I hear. I can’t wait!
Disclaimer: I don’t usually shoot in Richmond, as it’s difficult to travel much while I teach, but I actually love traveling for shoots when I can. Staying in a hotel is one of the most fun things in the world to me. I love walking into a clean room, watching someone else’s cable, and leaving towels on the floor (except when I’m a multi-night guest, in which case I go the eco-friendly route and reuse). My husband came with me to this session and we had fantastic food while we were out too… Friday night at Mekong Vietnamese, which – much to Jared’s delight – also features an enormous Belgian beer selection, and Saturday lunch at Kuba Kuba, a splashy little Cuban place with fun decor and delicious sandwiches.
This was a great little trip… besides the fun of eating out and traipsing around Richmond, Sarah and Bryan were just really great to work with. In fact, these are some of my very favorite engagement photos to date. I’m just sorry that it has taken me four months to share them!
After shooting around the University of Richmond, we drove to the Canal Walk and walked around the historic buildings and waterways. Definitely a place I’d like to come back to someday!
