I’ve been fortunate to get to shoot a lot of big, beautiful weddings at gorgeous, fancy venues.
But you know what I really love?
When a couple writes me to say they’re having a small affair, just a few hours, at their family home, surrounded by mountains and country fields, with only their closest friends and relatives as guests. Although their event was smaller in scale, Ashley and Erich put a lot of thought into their decor and wedding day details. I fell immediately in love with Ashley’s ribbon flower bouquet, cmplete with antique clock parts, and Erich’s matching boutineer. I’m also becoming a big, big fan of the serve-yourself candy bar. Their whole event was relaxed, intimate, and fun — exactly the sort of wedding I think every couple wants, and also the sort I love to photograph.
Special thanks to Colin Krause, my second shooter for this event.
