Mia is graduating from Blacksburg High School this week and I’m so happy I got to take her senior pictures.  I’ve known Mia’s family for a number of years now, and this girl just continues to impress me.  She is already a national award-winning documentary filmmaker, alongside her younger sister.  The stories Mia tells through her films are important and moving… she’s made films about Virginia history, the Mountain Valley pipeline, and immigration, just to start.  She even organized an anti-bigotry film festival in Charlottesville last fall.

But beyond all that, she’s smart, passionate, funny, and friendly to all… and I’m pretty sure she’s about to take the world by storm.
